Schools and offices are closed down so were here stuck in the house. They put up an evacuation center and mostly are schools so they have to close the school down for temporary shelter.
We were at Walmart late last night because most of the grocery stores are closed too only walmart is open 24 hrs.. The can goods and bottled water , candles, flashlights are almost gone. Theres no more corned beef, sardines, etc. we only got instant noodles and some vienna sausage and fill up our tanks.
theres not a lot of people in the gas station maybe because its late.
The local tv here said that the storm will come tonight or maybe tomorrow.. im not sure.. i hope it would change directions because this is a pretty strong typhoon that can be a hurricane. FYI Jacksonville hasn’t had a direct hit from a hurricane since 1964 ..
The main concern is the storm’s intense rainfall, which could mean storm surges, flooding and mudslides.
i pray it will pass over as soon as possible..
