I got a free spa that didn’t work and I’ve been working on it to try and figure out what is wrong with it.

I get heat, bubbles, but after 2 days or so the water gets gross and it needs to be drained.. I’m assuming its some type of pump I need, but I’m not sure.. I was assuming that i have to clean the spa filter? I dont know..
but here are some tips i found online but im not sure if it works.

If it is a removable cartridge type like I have on the pool, I use a high pressure nozzle on the end of a hose and flush each section from top to bottom, then from the inside toward the outside. Have done this for 5 years with good success. Finally wore out a filter and had to replace, but was mainly due to rough handling.
